"Home" was an exhibition at the Latcham Gallery, Stouffville, ON (Maura Broadhurst, curator) in 2004. The two series exhibited, "Home" and "Emotional Floorplans" are ongoing. In both cases, the personal or subjective aspects of dwelling were my subject. In the former, I work with paint on canvas and the familiar, peaked-roof iconic form to arrive at whimsical, but multivalent imagery. I worked with different individuals to develop "emotional floorplans" of participants' dream houses - sometimes homes of desire, sometimes of memory, sometimes of actual dreams. In both series, I am interested in the emotional dimensions of space, and finding affective means of accessing the powerful feelings people invest in their houses, and their homes.
